Principal Doug Walker recognized 20 Chatham High School seniors who have been named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, was presented to these scholastically talented seniors.

Bob Penn retired Chatham firefighter and 9/11 first responder visited CMS and CHS. He shared his experience, answered questions and commended SDOC teachers on teaching students "how" not "what" to think. He considers this one of the most valuable skils for safety and security.
