Students were treated to cookies and cocoa by the PTO yesterday. Over 3000 cookies were served and brought a bit of holiday fun in the midst of a busy academic week!



Chambers and Voices Choirs performed at the White House last Friday. A once in a lifetime opportunity for these students to perform holiday classics alongside of George Washington in the East Wing. The Chambers choir performs Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer here https://youtu.be/1eDHVgdkDj0. Students also had the opportunity to tour the White House and do a walking tour of Washington D.C.


Big announcement at the Board of Education Meeting tonight! There will now be an early dismissal next Friday, December 22. Happy Holidays!

We are excited for LAF winter concert to once again anchor the Night of Music on December 8 from 5 PM -7:30 PM. Special performances by musical groups from CHS and CMS will also be featured. Performances will be held at Firehouse Plaza and throughout downtown. Night of Music will once again be sponsored by the Chatham Performing Arts Boosters in partnership with the Chatham Area Chamber of Commerce. Scan QR code for additional details.

The Students Against Cancer club at Chatham High School is hosting a holiday toy drive for the children currently undergoing treatment at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Toys may be dropped in the collection boxes at the Chatham HS lobby and/or at the Chatham Library. Donations accepted until December 15th.

CHS students in the Engineering Happiness course at CHS research and participate in interactive projects that teach positive psychology techniques that promote reframing negative perspectives and promote resiliency. Students recently presented on mindful meditation; how reading improves well-being and the benefits of interacting with nature. Students then engaged in the related activity and discussed the resulting impact. #SDOC2023
The French 4 Contemporary Topics class visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of the art unit. Manet's famous painting Déjeuner sur l'herbe was featured in a special exhibit, which made the timing of this trip extraordinary. Seeing these works of art up close allowed students to appreciate the details of the painting and encouraged them to engage with each of the pieces in a way they may not with a reproduction.

CHS Honors Choir, Orchestra and Band students performed their recital last week. Each student selected a solo piece to perform in front of their peers and received feedback from their teacher. The Honors recital displays the extraordinary talent of our performing arts students and marks the beginning of the winter concert season. CHS Choir Concert is December 7. Senior Dinner will be held after Thursday's performance. Reservations for the dinner must be made by 11/9 at seniorfallplay@gmail.com. Chatham High student and girl scout Manaal Qureshi organized a series of workshops at the Chatham library aimed at spreading awareness about the impact of litter on local bodies of water. These workshops welcomed attendees of all ages, educating them about the pollutants that find their way from nearby schools and houses into streams by the Great Swamp through storm drainage pipes, wind, and heavy rainfall.



Beautiful day today for the CHS Wellness Fair! Student groups and community organizations were available to educate students about wellness resources and volunteer opportunities available to them. #sdocwellness
