Last week, Dr. LaSusa proudly dedicated the Maud Peper Dahme Libraries of the Holocaust at Chatham High School and Chatham Middle School. These libraries enshrine our commitment to teaching Holocaust studies and to ensuring that all students in Chatham learn, and never forget, the facts and lessons from this tragic part of history. The libraries house stories of forgotten or overlooked survivors; published works; manuscripts and collections of digital archives and interviews; as well as works from Maud Dahme's personal collection. A grant from the Chatham Education Foundation helped make these libraries possible.
The Seeing Eye of Morristown visited The W.A.A.G Club (We Are Animal Guardians) and Girl Scout Troop #96754, to teach them about the importance and role of seeing eye dogs. Students loved interacting with the dogs and learning about how they help others.

This week Scott Chesney inspired student with his assembly "Dream, Believe, and Work to Achieve". Chesney shared how being paralyzed at the age of 15 changed is life perspective and motivated him to share messages of acceptance and respect.

Yesterday was the annual District Choral Festival. Backtrack worked with students in each grade level individually then as a combined group to record a song. Students also learned beat boxing techniques and how to incorporate them nto musical pieces. District Choral day is made possible by a grant from the Cahtham Education Foundation Ryan T. Ganley Memorial Fund (Metviner Family).

Maude Dahme has a remarkable and inspiring story that we are excited to share with the community at large. This program is made possible by the Chatham Education Foundation and the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education.
Dr. Hrdina's 6th and 7th Grade students at Chatham Middle School took part in a "Souper Bowl" food drive. The students donated over 1,300 non perishable items which were donated to local food pantries. #SDOCgivesback

Holocaust survivor, Maud Dahme, presented at CHS today and to CMS 6th graders yesterday to share her story of gratitude, perseverance and determination. Maude Dahme opened the school year speaking to faculty and staff members. She will present to the parent community on March 7.
