Starting this week Wednesday, April 16 - Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Chatham High School Theatre Department is presenting their spring production of Chicago: Teen Edition. This youth-adapted version of the classic Broadway musical is specially designed for teenage performers while keeping the show’s iconic jazzy style and satirical storyline. Set in the Roaring Twenties, it follows Roxie Hart, a young woman who dreams of fame as a vaudeville star but ends up in jail after murdering her lover. There, she meets Velma Kelly, another performer and fellow inmate, who becomes both her rival and inspiration. With the help of slick lawyer Billy Flynn, both women manipulate the press and the public to gain celebrity status.
Performances will be held Thursday, April 16, Friday, April 17th, and Saturday, April 18th at 7:00 PM.
Tickets for the performances must be purchased in advance online at chathamsd.booktix.com. Ticket prices: $12.00 for students, and $15.00 for adults.

Spread the word!🍽️

CMS 8th graders teamed up with kindergarten classes to read Catching Kindness by Kara Mitchell, spreading an important message about compassion and connection. Together, students created kindness link chains filled with thoughtful ways to show care for others, colored beautiful kindness-inspired artwork, and enjoyed time playing and building new friendships.

The CMS Student Council, in partnership with the PTO, brought the school together for a cozy and meaningful Hot Chocolate Day during all lunch periods! After weeks of planning, it was exciting to see this student-led event come to life as classmates enjoyed a warm cup of cocoa.
Every cup supports a greater purpose! Proceeds will benefit a charity selected by students through a school-wide vote.
Shoutout to our amazing organizers and leaders who made it all happen! 👏

With this impressive win, Jack has qualified to compete in the U14 Eastern Region Championships in Maine.
The SDOC community is cheering you on, Jack—good luck at Regionals! 👏

While AI tools can generate code, the human thinking behind it has never been more important. This winter, a dedicated group of CHS students showed that computer science is about much more than typing—it’s about logic, creativity, and problem-solving.
Throughout January and February, the five-week after-school program introduced 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to the fundamentals of digital design and algorithmic thinking. Participants explored how to plan solutions, troubleshoot challenges, and think like programmers.
Programs like Coding with Girls highlight that computer science builds critical thinking skills that extend far beyond the screen—empowering students with tools they can use across all STEM fields. 👩💻🚀
Led by Mr. Ianuzzi and Mrs. Pasternak-McGinn, students drew inspiration from poet and writer Aimee Nezhukumatathil (Bite by Bite; World of Wonders) as they planned, wrote, and revised personal narratives about a food or element of nature that holds special meaning in their lives.
Students blended storytelling with research, creating thoughtful and engaging pieces. In true academic fashion, the symposium gave students the opportunity to present their work through posters, conversations, and readings. Guests were invited to explore the displays and speak with students about their narratives and sources of inspiration.

Thank you to Ms. Calamari and Ms. Quintero, CMS 6th grade ELA teachers, for bringing Ms. Dahme to CMS.
