Junior Families,
Starting in the New Year we will kick off meetings with Juniors to discuss Post-Secondary planning. You can now schedule your conference in the parent portal! Conferences include the student, parent/guardian, and assigned counselor. Parents/Guardians have the option to attend in person or virtually. Please contact your childs’ counselor in advance to receive a link if you wish to attend virtually.
The window to schedule conferences on the portal will be from 12/18/2023- 01/05/2024. If you miss the opportunity to schedule your conference during this window, please contact your counselor directly.
How to schedule a conference in the parent portal:
Please login to the parent portal and click on the conferences tab
Click on request a conference
Select a date range to view available time slots. Conferences are available starting on 1/08/2024
Select the day and time you prefer and click reserve.
Junior conferences are for parents/guardians and students. When selecting a conference date and time please make sure it is during a non-academic period. *Please check with your student to make sure that the date/time selected does NOT conflict with an academic class.*
Prior to your conference students should complete the following: These steps can also be found on the Preparing For Your Junior Conference Doc
1. Complete the "Game Plan"Google Form
-This should be done *3-5 days prior to your conference* so that your counselor can best prepare for your meeting. You can find your counselor’s specific Game Plan Survey Form here
2. Add schools to your list:
If you are thinking about attending College post CHS
-In the “Colleges” tab within Naviance, add a few schools that you are interested in under “Colleges I Am Thinking About” (Again only If you are planning to pursue the college process)
3. Review the presentations and videos put together by the counseling department:
