💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
The SDOC is coming together as one community to recognize and support mental health.
To kick off the month, students and staff are wearing green—the color of mental health awareness—on May 1. 💚
In addition, the exterior of CHS will be illuminated in green as part of the Mental Health Association of New Jersey’s “Light It Up Green” initiative, in collaboration with the Chatham Wellness Committee.
Let’s continue to raise awareness, show support, and remind one another that mental health matters—every day.

🇫🇷✈️ A global connection at CHS!

This April marked the 9th annual Chatham High School–St. Joseph’s Exchange, continuing a special partnership with St. Joseph’s School in Roquebrune, Cap Martin in the South of France. Through this one-to-one family stay program, students build lasting friendships and cultural understanding.

From April 13–20, French students stayed with their CHS hosts, experiencing life in our community! 🇺🇸 During their visit, they spent time at CHS attending classes like Band, Art, Business, History, and French, and even appeared on a special episode of The Pulse, our student-produced TV show 🎥

Their trip also included exploring New Jersey (Princeton University pictured here) and sightseeing in New York City after a week at a NYC youth hostel. On their final day, they fully immersed themselves by shadowing their hosts through a typical school day.

The Chatham High School Bridges Outreach Club partnered with the Bridges Organization in Summit for their fourth outreach “run” of the year in Newark on April 25. Despite the rainy weather, CHS students showed up in full force, serving over 80 men, women, and children experiencing homelessness across New Jersey.

👏 One more to go! The fifth and final run of the year takes place on May 16.
