Today’s 6th Grade Math lesson in Mr. Hrdina’s class was all about percentages! Students demonstrated their understanding by “shopping” at Hrdina’s Department Store—because there’s nothing like a good bargain to make learning math fun.

The cold didn’t stop the students at MAS today! Students bundled up in their winter gear and headed outside to enjoy the snow—creating snow towers, making snow angels, and building snow forts.

Inspired by teachers on the Internet, Mrs. Mandala and Ms. McLoughlin started a "Conversation Cart" at CHS to get students and staff talking to each other about fun topics such as teacher trivia, Jenga competitions, "this or that" questions, student polls, and so much more! Their first two Conversation Cart days were a huge success! It is a fun way to get the students to engage with each other, promote in-person conversations, challenge each other to get their brains thinking about new topics, and encourage them to see the fun and positives in each day.

Today, Washington Avenue School students took part in a Team Makers Workshop. A longtime student favorite, these workshops are jam-packed with entertaining, interactive, and cooperative activities designed to teach the importance of teamwork, mutual respect, and creative problem-solving as students work together to complete each challenge.
