It is the school’s obligation to ensure that each student is either in school or with a parent.  Therefore, the school’s absence reporting process plays a key role in determining this.  To report an absence or late arrival, please log into the Genesis Parent Portal.  After you log in, you will see a button which prompts you to "Notify the Attendance Office".  The school must be notified before 8:50 a.m. each day your child is going to be absent or tardy (by 12:20 noon for PM preschool and/or kindergarten).  If, for some reason, you cannot access the portal, call the attendance line as early as possible to report absences or late arrivals.  Call 973-457-2508 and select option 1.

DO NOT EMAIL ABSENCES.  

The safety and well-being of your children is the responsibility of the school during school hours.  For that reason, we are obligated to contact you to verify your child’s whereabouts if you do not report your child’s absence from school.  If you do not report your child’s absence or tardiness, your child's absence is considered "unverified" and our system will alert you automatically by voice mail and text message.
