Community College

Community Colleges are two year schools set up to grant certificates and/or associate's degrees.  Community colleges offer programs in all major fields of study—ranging from art to political science to zoology. Attending a community college is an opportunity to substantially lower your total college costs and/or improve your grades before transferring to a four-year school.  As Morris County residents, you are encouraged to attend County College of Morris to keep costs down, however, you can attend any county college in New Jersey.  

For some students, career interests do not require a degree or a 4-year school is not the right fit right out of High School. For this reason, students continue to consider and attend 2-year schools. In most cases, this results in being awarded an Associate's Degree. Once completed popular options are to join the workforce or transfer to a 4-year school to complete a Bachelor's Degree.

An excellent way to save significantly on the cost of college is to attend a community college for 2 years and then transfer to a traditional 4-year school.
