TRADE SCHOOLS & APPRENTICESHIPS
Apprenticeships
The process of learning a skilled occupation through paid on-the-job training under the guidance of experienced journey workers. Apprentices also participate in related classroom training. The length of training varies from one to six years, depending on the occupation. To become an apprentice, you must be 18 years old. Students interested in learning a trade and getting practical work experience are encouraged to visit the and contact the training centers affiliated with the trade that interests them most.
Trade & Career Schools
Career schools are dedicated to providing students with the training and skills necessary to find employment in fields such as aeronautics, computer technology, healthcare and many more. Programs range in duration but often require less time than a four year degree as students are specializing in the skills needed for a specific career and not necessarily continuing studies in the core academic subjects studied in high school.

ENLISTING IN THE MILITARY
Students who plan to serve in the United States Armed Forces should make certain to speak with the important adults in your life (parents, guardians) and a military recruiter. It also recommended you speak with other students who recently joined the branch to learn more about their experiences. To locate a military recruiter in our area and also review questions to ask the recruiter, search here.
Students will need to take the Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test and may want to review for the exam prior to sitting for it. For more information on the exam, click here.
