    1:1 Program Information
    Program Overview:
The 2018-2019 school year will be the third year of implementation of the district’s Technology Integration 1:1 Initiative, where each student will receive a district provided computing device.  This year, every student in grades 6 through 12 will receive a Chromebook provided by the district.  The district has purchased the Dell Chromebook 11 devices. The dimensions for this device are approximately 0.8” height, 12” width, and 8” depth.

We, as a district, believe that successful technology integration can, and will, transform teaching and learning, thereby leading to an enhanced educational experience that allows learning to reach beyond the physical walls of the traditional classroom.  We look forward to seeing the positive impact that technology can have on student learning and our instructional program.

    Vision & Goals:
The School District of the Chatham’s Technology Integration program is designed to enhance and transform teaching and learning.  The successful integration of technology allows students to be more than solely consumers of knowledge, but rather creators, collaborators, and producers of knowledge and digital content.

Purposeful and meaningful integration of technology into the teaching and learning environment allows students to develop 21st century competencies, also known as the four C’s of education - communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

The integration of technology also achieves the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) Standard 8.1 - Educational Technology and the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards, which challenge students to become:

    • Empowered Learners
    • Digital Citizens
    • Innovative Designers
    • Computational Thinkers
    • Creative Communicators
    • Global Collaborators
Technology has changed the way in which live and how we learn.  In the past, the focus was on solely learning how to use technology.  This has transformed into using technology to learn, and ultimately, transforming learning through the use of technology.
