    K-3 Social Studies
Social studies students engage in active, experiential, and reflective exercises that guide them through their growing understanding of themselves as individuals and in contrast to others while exploring the different roles they play in the context of their family and in school.  Looking at themselves and others through the lens of “My Self”, “My Place” and “My World”, students learn how there are different expectations, purposes, and behaviors in these contexts.  Although they themselves change over time, just like their families and school, concepts like cooperation, communication and fairness have timeless value.
