The Basaralian Family completed dad's Father's Day service project in August.
Near the second grade entrance, they installed a butterfly garden - mostly seeds
but also milkweed plants, given the plight of the miraculous monarch species,
which is being discussed more and more in classrooms.
The little white signs say, "Butterfly Garden 2016."
This summer a few WAS kids (Moran Family
created an art booth and sold their artwork.
The kids raised $100 and donated it
to the Nepal relief effort. This was a sweet
reminder of what they learned this past year
through the Cougar Cubs for Kindness Program.
Cub Scout Pack 6, which has students from St. Pat's and WAS,
with their parent's help, donated a weekend of their time in August,
and mulched and weeded several beds in the front of the school.
